Dear Colleagues,

The next Alpine Liver and Pancreatic Surgery Meeting is scheduled to take place in Madonna Di Campiglio, Italy, 2-6th February 2022.

We fully recognise the problems that the Omicron variant is causing.  Countries are at different stages with varying restrictions/measures in place to tackle the healthcare burdens.  We have been following the Italian government guidance closely, and, as of now, it is feasible for the meeting to take place, therefore, we are proceeding as planned with a face-to-face event and are confident we can deliver an exceptional event in a safe environment.

We strongly encourage you to visit the Italian Tourist Board website now to familiarise yourself with the requirements of entry, please click HERE for further information.  It would also be wise to check again prior to departure since requirements can change.

We look forward to welcoming you at the meeting.  Mask-wearing will be mandatory indoors and outdoors (FFP2 necessary on closed lifts and public transport), there will be increased cleaning, one-way systems, and sanitation stations throughout the venues.  Be aware a Covid pass such as the European Green Pass, the UK NHS Pass or equivalent is essential.  We have taken the decision to cancel the Mountaintop Party, those who have booked this event have been automatically refunded.  The Faculty Lunch will still go ahead since this is held in a private dining space with our attendees only.

Whilst we are not mandating daily testing, we are encouraging delegates to act responsibly and suggesting they might consider carrying out a lateral flow test each day.  Delegates will be provided with information on arrival, of whom to contact for assistance if they show a positive test or develop symptoms.

Despite the ongoing issues, we are very excited to meet with our friends and colleagues and share this year’s programme.  We are not planning on delivering the meeting virtually, however, some selected content will be shared after the meeting via the ALPS Educational Platform.
